Message I am considering purchasing a high milleage Z. I want to keep in mind an approximate amount in case the motor goes, which I can then add to my paying price to decide whether or not it is worthwhile. Can anyone give me an approximate idea of what it would cost (parts and labor) for a shop to rebuilt a TT motor to stock specs? Also whats an approximate range for a rebuild with a built bottom end? Approximation for 5spd tranny rebuild?

As a whole, is it a bad idea to get a Z with lets say 160k miles? Also what about buying a Z which has the same milleage, but has recently had the turbos and motor rebuilt, and clutch replaced? About how long do the ZTT motors usually last before they need a rebuilt?

The 160k mile Z is several thousand dollars cheaper than a ~100k mile Z, and is advertised as having the motor, turbos, clutch and feul injectors all done within the last thousand miles. Is it worth checking the car out, or should I pass?

Thanks, Jordan
