Message at the point where the vavle does not close at the proper time, minor float only hurts performance, major float can smash a valve. this is usually base line for red lines as i have always heard. When a valve floats that is the critical RPM. The reason motorcycles have such high redlines as valves are real small and light and float at higher rpm. the lighter the vav;lve the easier it is to control at HIGH rpm
