Message Since I already went through this I thought I would share my story. Placing the filters under the headlights is a bad idea in areas that experience rain. I placed my air filters outside the frame rails as I am running an FMIC. Each time it rained my car would start to run bad. Very severe jerking and hesitation. I originally thought it was coming from water contacting the MAF sensor connection, so I sealed that up good and water tight but still the problem persisted. Long story short. Water was soaking the filters to the point that it was getting sucked through the MAFS (I have two also). I guess the water would hit the hot-wire and cause a false reading. I actually had to replace one MAF as it died during a trip in the rain. As soon as my car would start to run poorly, I could simply remove my filters and the problem disappeared. If I dried them out and put them back on the car ran fine. Wet them again and the problem returned.

Here is a picture of how the setup looked when I was done. I thought there was pretty good shelter from rain but obvious that was not the case. I hope your system works better than mine did as I ended up putting them back in the stock location.
