Have you worked on the NA and the TT? I haven't researched this, but I would say design wise, the Z32 started life as an NA. There's SO many things Nissan would have done differently if the Z32 had originally been designed to be a TT. Once Nissan realized they needed more HP to truely make a supercar (don't take this the wrong way NA guys), they adapted the turbos to the setup. If the Z32 had been designed as a turbo, the front bulkhead would have been way more accomodating for the intake tracting for the intercoolers etc. There's a lot of adaptation things here & there you'll find from working on both models of car that make sense when it's an NA & a kludgy when it's applied as a TT. I firmly think the TT was an afterthought from the drawing board. I also wouldn't put the Z32 on the 'lil brother side of thing w/ the Skyline. If they felt that way, they would have dumped the 240SX & imported the Skyline to be the flagship instead of the Z32... Considering sales in the states has to be way higher then in Japan, it would be silly to keep the flagship in Japan... Now, as in the last 3 years since the Z32 was retired stateside, I could agree with your opinion.. the Skyline has continued to evolve into a flagship for Nissan.. until the Z returns... They are two sides of the same coin. Full sports car & full sports sedan.
