Message The whole point is to utilize the increase in octane. Toluene content in gasoline varies by state because of different regulations on Aromatic Hydrocarbon content in gasoline. (federal law is 40%, California law for example is 30%)

Unless that was a turbocharged kart, it's really not the same ballgame. One of the primary gating factors on the boost level you can run on a turbocharged engine with any given timing/fuel curve is the antiknock index of the fuel. This is already obvious to most people here.

In the specific instance of that Kart, raising the octane isn't going to help unless you are combating spart retard. (which isn't occurring) With the advanced knock control systems of modern cars, you will see an increase in power if you successfully combat spark retard. (this is assuming the retard is occurring, if it's not... then you are wasting your time)
