reasons "out of their control" for the premature failure of parts on their products...it's an easy out. I think the real reason for 1990-1993 injector failure is just plain poor design, manufacturing, or cheap materials. Most car part production is contracted out by OEM's and it's very similar to the government...by the lowest bidder that can make the product to the manufacturer's specifications. This is not the best way to produce a quality part...but helps the bottom line: PROFIT. And that's why every car maker is in business. It is obvious that Nissan discovered injector problems early on during the 300ZX's run, and then switched to the later style which have been mainly trouble free. These injectors fail quite easily on their own...Toluene is very unlikely to "hasten" the demise of an early injector. If it is non-corrosive, and does not attack o-rings I don't see any negative implications to the injectors being possible.
