this may be of interest to someone. when i finished installing my stereo, i found that my interior lights would dim when the bass hit, but my exterior lights were unaffected. it turned out that the cd player was drawing enough current to dim the lights, and practically everything on the interior seems to be wired in together in some manner. i ended up running an "always hot" power line with an in-line fuse to the player and bypassing the original "always hot" line that comes through the OEM harness. i still use the "remote" power source, so everything works properly, and i have had no power/dimming problems since i ran the new line.
