JE doesn't have any offset plus their skirts are much longer, thus they can run the higher clearances I guess, but still their sales people say to expect clatter. Wiseco's seem shorter and when the timing is increased (like in the low throtle conditions) they start to pivot or so it seems if you use Wiseco's recomended clearance. I went under .003" to avoid that condition but only time will tell. High HP motors and low clearance on forged pistons don't mix especially since their pistons are 2618 alloy. Knowing what I know now, I would NOT RECOMEND THEM but I'm too late in the game here ;)... I take it that you will be using them? And are you sure about their offset being the same? I remember Brian Nutter telling me it is about .045" and 1mm is about .04". Maybe I'm wrong. Ohh, and me and Mike W. Smith were talking off-line a while back and emailed many people asking about their rebuilds/clatter. But we could not arrive at any definite conclusion other than that the clearance was excessive or that the offset was mixed up due to Wiseco's lack of directions. I already had mine in and decided to risk it. Only time will tell now. I believe the product was brought up to sale too quickly with no real world testing. I think they have a design issue if they clatter and you have to go considerably under .003" to prevent that since they will expand enough to Seize the motor at least according to my machine shop's experience that builds Race Boat engines.
