High Performance Engine Warranties: & (JDM used Engines ) None is given and none is implied. Unit when installed properly, will startup and run without problems. If mechanical problems are found the below action will be taken. All Engine Packages will be supplied with compression-tested numbers. :1. Sold “as is”, in running condition, upon delivery. 2. With NO warranty expressed or implied. :That warranty has more holes than Swiss Cheese. We sell high performance JDM spec motors from Japan. Since they are *used* motors we do not give a warranty on them. Only compression numbers. We have no idea how the motors were treated or stored prior to us getting them or installing them. So for a used JDM high performace motor we do not give extended warranties. Pretty standard warranty or lack there of for JDM *used* motors. Correct me if I am incorrect on this, but wasn't your feedback to me (when informed of the rod knock) that there was NO WAY that it could be a machine shop error? You are wrong. What I said was...If the machine shop had made an error with a rod bearing clearance you would have had it start knocking within the first 100-500 miles. A clearance problem will also affect several rods/bearings and not just one. A single rod knock is usally due to detonation or lack of oiling. I also said that until the motor is pulled and checked we are all just making assumptions about what and why it happened. With respect to my knocking motor, I can document the following: 1). 1,000 break-in miles 2). 4 oil changes. 19 miles, 130 miles, 511 miles, 905 miles. 3). A compression leak-down prior to dyno. 4). Dyno pulls were data-logged with a Nissan Consult. Everything from timing to injector duty cycle recorded. 5). Air fuel ratios on all runs as well. In a nutshell, everything that could possibly have been done to ensure a proper break-in was done. I have no doubt in my mind that all this was done...I know how anal you are ;-). I also know that the compression and leak down were very very good before you took it to the dyno. I also know that it was not knocking until after at least 20 runs on the dyno Click me. So like I said before...if it was a machine shop clearance issue it would have "probably" shown up sooner but until the motor is inspected no one knows what went wrong. The motor knocks and once you were informed of this, you simply told me what a great track record you had and that there was no way that it could be a machine shop error. :How convenient. That is not what I said at all. If you are interested in trying to claim your motor under our warranty all you have to do is bring me the Long Block and I will disassemble it(you can be present or I will take pictures like I did for Mike) and if it is determined that our machine shop made a mistake they will fix it for FREE. Pretty easy...like I told you in our conversations.
