Message Cash is keen until you come across places that wont take it.
You can't pay bills with cash. (tried it)
You can't rent a hotel with cash(80% of the time). (tried it, and I should know).
MANY service type places require Name/Adress/Phone/Email/Etc and frown upon cash transactions.

I've been going around and using a gun. No cash, no credit, and usually no fight. :)

I understand that every inquiry into your credit (even your own inquiry) is a 'hit'.
Credit companies have a seperate 'credit rating' that is used when issueing the 'credit approval' mailings (quarterly). it does not count as a credit inquiry.

What I want to know is; can I refuse to give my Social Security Number to my medical insurance (yet to be signed up). I know for a fact (100% sure) it is against federal law for anyone to ask for it except government institutions. But they (apartments, insurance, etc) won't have anything to do with me declining to give them my social number. (I also know it's illegal to give my phone number as my social number, since that's considered fraud, even though it's illegal for them to request that information).
