it is only used in cars with straight-cut gears, our and all other (as far as i know) street cars have synchros, this negates the need for double-clutching. double-clutching is only advantageous at the outer limits of adhesion. for instance when going through a turn and you need to downshift, it is less jolting on the drivetrain when u match engine speeds. basically, imagine you are in 3rd, in order to "double clutch into second" -put clutch in, shift into neutral -disengage clutch (take foot off) rev engine -engage clutch shift into 3rd, rev engine and release clutchif you are good enough (and i don't recommend this) you can actually shift your car without actually using the clutch in other words, dumb movie line, you don't need to "the More you Know" (the dumber you realize F&F really is)
