That's one of the flies in the ointment for folks who swear the 96 5-spd TTs make the same hp as the autos (ie 280). Its just not possible given the fact that the turbos were always "bigger" in the 5-spd, even in 96. So if the 96 5-spd TT "only made 280hp," how much did the auto TT make, given its smaller turbos? Tom Bell's argued for years that the cars were mechanically identical; they're not. I know I'm a bit off subject, but it's surprising how many people don't know about the differences in the turbos.
