The key element of getting the discount is to claim who you are, i.e. a member of X club. Or else, like Damon said, you are just an average Joe to them. Also, at the business stand point, why would one want to sell it at lower price when he can sell for more? Remember, the disconted price is for MEMBERS ONLY.
When I read you message, I take his initial response as "oh, you should mention your membership to get the discount price" while you first corrected him. From this, it is not hard to tell that he did't know you were calling for a discounted price. Maybe, next time you should make it clear of who you are?Personally, I don't see this LAME x6 level.
