Message of other areas. At least once you get away from the major cities, it's not uncommom to roll up on a car on a 2 lane highway, and most of the time the car will pull over on to the wide shoulders you guys have there and let you past. Driving in Houston is a slightly different story though - if the opening between you and the car in front of you is at least 8 inches longer than the idiot next to you, you can be damned sure he's gonna take it!

For the record, I went to the University of Houston my freshman year, and have driven to/ through Texas 4 or 5 times since then as well.
