| Fires at two U.S. Gulf Coast refineries have reduced gasoline production. One refinery is completely shut down, and the other has been forced to shut down an upgrading unit. A third Gulf Coast refinery has been on reduced through put for several months due to an earlier fire. Added to this, a West Coast refinery has been forced to reduce production of CARB gasoline due to problems with a boiler. Gasoline stocks were already low and refineries have been operating at full capacity for some time. These events will further reduce supply just as the summer driving season begins to heat up. The end result will be an increase in gasoline prices. Remember, you heard it here first.
