"an Explorer slams into me going about 40mph" From the looks of those pictures you did not get hit at 40mph. Maybe you are exaggerating some. If you were hit at 40mph from an explorer that sits a little higher that the Z bumper it would have broken all your tail lights out. There is also not near the buckling that happened in the front of the car. I just don't see enough damage in the rear that indicates enough force to drive you under another car.
