| A similar story happened to me/us. Was snowboarding at Breckenridge in Colorado. Fairly new snow on the ground (<24 hours) and we were having a day of it, riding in the trees, etc. "last run" of the day and everything was normal. As Sean was about to come out of the trees, The board came out from under him but in front of him. He landed on his fat ass, but hit hard enough that he rolled forward. When he rolled forward, he drove his knee into the tree. It crushed the ends of his bones and drove his knee cap to the back of his leg. Long story short, he now has a very bad limp. Fucked up knee. But he still boards when he can. PS. sorry for your friends loss. PSS. My cousin is 100% paralyzed from the neck down. He used to race motorcycles on a circle track. He went into the fence kinda grazing it at 110 mph. This past winter, He got certified to dive. So he loaded up his care taker, and went to Belize. Fully paralyzed, but still being active and scuba diving.
