| that expensive anyways per piston.. around $15 per piston. The wiseco also has detonation grooves on the top land and gas accumultor grooves between the first and second rings. Detonation grooves are suppose to break up the detonation energy waves so they don't damage the rings. The gas accumulator grooves prevents pressure gas getting below the first ring and lifting it causing it to flutter and not seal. It's matter of choise. The finish on the CP pistons is second to none in quality. The wiseco are off the shelve pistons and limited to 88 mm. The QA on Wiseco speaks for them selve when they had a batch go out without marking which way to installed them.. wonder what else they overlooked? Hence the piston clatter from installing the pistons backward. We might be able to get the price further reduced . I will be speaking with a TT.net member who has direct access to CP pistons buying rather than going through a third party. Are you asking because you might be buying or just asking?
