Obviously, much higher reliability, will never wear out and fail. But, they actually conduct heat and therefore you actually run hotter air into the intake, which gives a performance loss over stock hoses. Not much of a loss, but a higher loss than some sort of gain claimed by higher boost holding. If you are running boost high enough to bulge out a stock hose, you most likely have a water misted FMIC which solves that problem (20+PSI?).
