I could never get that last little "out of balance" shimmy at speed out of my z31. I had a nail in my right rear tire since I owned the car. It was flush in a tread groove, too close to the sidewall to repair, it wasn't leaking, so I left it alone, no harm, no foul. I knew that it might come back and bite me someday. Sure 'nuff, the flat occurred one miserable wet night, the only night my ex had ever kicked me out of the house, lol. I get out to look at the flat, and there's a nail sticking through the SIDEWALL from INSIDE the tire. It was that same damn nail, and it was over six inches long and it had finally worked its way through the sidewall. Replaced the tire, and the shimmy was gone. All along, that six inch nail was flopping back and forth inside that tire giving me a noticeable shake. Car rides smooth as silk now.
