Harry (SpdDemon) told me about it six months later. I'm not going to argue the point because I have more design and style experience than most. The fact is, people don't like it because it's not "original." But a horizontal line placed where it is on that car has a "lowering" effect on the shape, which can be desireable. The shape of the side panels becomes bisected and therefore looks longer and flatter, which is consistent with the overall style of the car. For me to be able to live with it as long as I did, and NOT be bothered by the looks, means it is stylistically acceptable and valid, since I have an impeccable since of design (lol at myself). Add to this, I don't get door dings, and it's a keeper! Thanks for being different.
