A lot of the big 4x4 rock crawlers/mudders do V8s in their Jeeps. To me it's the wrong approach. Lighter is better.. all they do is break axles because they apply too much torque. I'll have to post some pics of my dad's latest creation. A 40s Willys Jeep w/ a Toyota 4x4 truck engine in it on a custom chassis. Light weight and will go anywhere the big boys will (proven).
