Message I'm referring to the tune-up menu that JUN always uses for Z32's...(it utilizes TD05's).

I have no problem at all with the 720's... I think they're great upgrades... when you need them. Putting 720's onto a car making only 600 crank hp is overkill. That's like putting a triple disc clutch on a stock Z... yeah, it'll be better because it'll hold the power, but why the hell would you want to do that?!? Even if the triple disc is the same price as a stock clutch, why do it?

The only drawbacks to the 720's are slightly less smooth idle and more fuel consumption. I don't agree with you that mods always kill mileage. Many mods, even intakes and exhausts, actually help fuel economy. What kills mileage is when people don't know how to properly tune the mods they put on. So, let's say that 720's get 16mpg and 555's get 18mpg. If you drive 18,000 miles a year, that's 125 more gallons of gas per year you'll have to buy... and at $1.80 per gallon, you're talking about $225 extra per year. I dunno about you, but $225 is a big deal to me... that's just $225 more that I'll have to spend on upgrades.

Anyways, the best running Z's are the ones that have all the components complement each other. I always recommend that people figure out what their goal is and buy the components necessary to support that goal. In this case, 555's are plenty to support a 600hp Z. If someone were just planning on making a 500hp Z, I would 100% suggest that they get the 480's. I dunno if this is just because my thinking is influenced by the Japanese tuners' way of tuning (because this is exactly what they all do... use the appropriately sized injector for the job), but it's what makes the most sense. Why get the extra flow if you're not going to use it? In Rob's case, he definitely needs the extra gas for the T28's and spraying NOS all the way down the track. But, for Speaker, 720's would be overkill.

: I thought you were referring to their single turbo red 300ZX... that Z does have 890cc injectors, so does their hyper yellow Silvia's and Skyline. You talk about a 700 HP JUN Z... well that's only about 550 RWHP and 555's will max out at about that HP level as I stated in an earlier post. I don't see why you have a problem with 720cc injectors... they are proven on many Z's already... they flow enough to meet whatever HP level your pushing but are not limited as much. They idle smooth as the Miami guys have reported and they can flow the HP that many people here are looking for. There is no reason not to get them especially since they're the same price as the 555's. Im sure there are many people here that would never max out the old 480cc injectors...but would you recommend them to anyone? Hell no... they're obsolete now since larger injectors are now availible. 400-500 RWHP is just not enough for a lot of people here and now that 720cc injectors are availible we can finally see some Z's competing with Supra's who run 720cc's and 850cc injectors with no problems. Whats a couple less miles in gas... mods kill gas mileage and most people accept that. If Nissan knew what they were doing they would have used 550cc's as our stock injectors and 720's would just be a basic fuel system upgrade.
