Decided to replace my hood after bad hail storm damage. I ordered a carbon-fiber, ducted hood from Stillen. They are distributer for VIS racing in CA. Had the hood painted black to match the car. Hood would'nt close. It was hitting my strut tower bracing across the top of the engine. I removed the brace, next it was hitting the strut tower mounting brackets; still would close. Removed those too. Hood would finally lock but the front of the hood was 1" above the headlights/center panel. I was able to adjust the hood lock down 1/4". Now 3/4" gap on drivers side and 1/4" gap on passenger side. Hood is not straight. Stillen now send me to the mfg. to discuss problem. I sent them a bunch of pics showing the problem. Bottom line, my old hood is gone, spent $300 to have it painted, can't use my front strut tower bracing. Hopefully, VIS will redo my hood and cover the cost of the painting...:(
