Message before it gets to the ECU.

It allows you to "fool" the ECU into making the mixture leaner or richer as the situation dictates. It MUST be tuned on a wideband dyno.

As for its benefits on an NA, its hard to say. It depends on what your mixture looks like already. If it is relatively good to start with, you wont see much benefit. If it is out of whack it could help.

When we ran my baseline dyno to tune it, my mixture was pretty good. Nick made a few adjustments, but all we could get out of it were 2-4 hp. Not a very good $/hp ratio there.

HOWEVER - It is always a good thing to know that your A/F is good, especially if you track your car as I have done a few times. It does put some dtresses on the motor that it wouldn't otherwise normally see.

My advise, take your car to a wideband dyno. See what your mixture looks like first. If its pretty good, don't bother with the AFC.

The important part of the spark plug for illustrative purposes is the part with the... um... sparky part. - Kenny (10 psi) 06/01/03 01:46:38
