The reasons we choose to spend so much time working on, thinking about and spending money on our z's is different for all of us. Just ask yourself why you spend the time and money that you do. Does it achieve what you want? Then think deep and ask yourself what you want in life, financially, emotionally, where you want to be in 20 years etc. If your obsession with the Z is hindering your goals, or might cause you to loove someone you love, it might be time for some changes. You don't have to give up the Z, just put things into perspective. For me, the Z is a great hobby, but my college school work and girlfriend come first. I spend money and work on the Z because I love working with my hands, doing somethign constructive and being able to take pride in my work. Working more hours now would allow more mod money and possibly turbo upgrade, but it would also jepordize my school work and my career so I do what I can working on breaks adding little mods when i can, and feel I can look forward to graduating and landing a nice engineering job. This way i can have achieve my career goals do work i love and have money for engine build up and big turbos. Surely not having a girlfriend would allow more mod money or time to work on the car, but I think about what my life would be like without my girlfriend and it seems pretty borring. I love the hell out of her and enjoy spending time around her. I want her to be happy and have fun with me too so I try not to go on talking about cars with her as it could be likened to girls talking about furniture or something lame with us. I try to talk about the mutual interests we share instead. She understands the Z makes me happy but I choose to work on it when she's at work or busy with something else. At the end of the day I am happy with my life. I have a bright future ahead of me a loving girlfriend and a kickass car that is a blast to drive. How you choose to put things in perspective is once again completely up to you, but I can only advise you try to juggle things such that they minimally interfere with each other. I feel as though I am having my cake and eating it too. Best of luck to you.
