There is a little nipple on the bottom of the pistons indicating the offset direction. I believe it is excessive piston to wall crearances required for those low/no sillicon pistons that causes the clattering. JE ones have NO offset and some people have clatter with them as well. It all depends on how much you go over the piston's stated bore, and if you measure the piston coated or uncoated when doing so. SGP started building their engines with Wisecos, so they either haven't seen these frequent reports or know something we don't :) I've got coated with .003" clearance but the engine is still not in the car.Regards, George
