Message Renault is making the company profitable by introducing new and radical designs with sharing of components. Little goes into individual design and engineering of the cars like Nissan has done in the past. Much of its current model line is designed to sell on the looks and "excitement bs" rather than their past engineering excellence and extensive R&D efforts. All that seems to be cutout to save costs and push models (aka Ford). The new Z was shot out in 2 years, compared to 7 it took to design ours. Plus, sport cars were THE PRIORITY in the the late 80's. These days automakers pour their souls into SUV's and crossovers, so handling and driving dynamics get pushed back. Even Porsche jumped ship :(
Don't get me wrong, it is still my favorite auto company but things are just not the same.

Just some things to consider,

George
