Message Some new Zer posted on here the other day about free horsepower mods. Well, since he just got his car and this is the first chance I've had to break into the Yellow Z. You can see just how some Z's could gain power just by preventive maintenance and cleaning, along with checking to see if you have the right parts.

Ok, first off, let me say like I have for years. COZ is the man when it comes to Nissan parts or just about any other Nismo part. I ordered the #6 11B's from him and got them two days later, same with my 99 center rear panel ( two days ).

Anyway, check this out. The first plug is my new colder #6 11B, next is the factory stock plug that comes with the TT's that I pulled out of my Black Z back when I changed them to #6 11B's, the third plug is the ones I just pulled out of the Yellow TT today. As many know the ones I pulled today are NA plugs. Not sure of the affect they would have, but there new plugs. So any NA guys need new NGK plugs $30 shipped.

Next little response mod that's highly over looked is your throttle cable. Look at how much slack is in the line, now imagine you pressing on the gas pedal and the cable retracting and taking up that slack before opening the throttle bodies.

Simple fixer, just back off the nuts on the treads and move the cable back, then screw the nut in front back to hold the cable back, once tight, lock it in place with that back nut. Cable on the left ( pass side ) is your cruise control cable.

Few parts minus the NGK's not in the pic.

Next, the Throttle bodies themselves. Man these have been highly over looked for ever it seems. Can of carb cleaner and a tooth brush works great.

Look at the carbon build up

While you have the Balance tube off doing the plugs, take a wire brush or better yet a wire wheel to this. Clean it shinny new again and you may need to go get a new set of ring gaskets, which are at any parts store and real cheap. But mostly, you want a piece of mind on a good seal. There's to many ways to leak on these motors anyway.

Keep plenty of zip ties around. I Zip tie every little Vac line I can find that doesnt have a hose clamp on it. Just to be sure of leaks. Doesn' take much time at all

This is the oil filter I pulled off the car today after flushing the motor. Sad, just sad. As you can see, some just see it as a means of driving around. I've never even seen this company filters before ,,, lol.

I see the CAS is made by Mitsubishi ,,, lol. I think it's Hitachi that makes the TT 90amp and Mitsu that makes the NA 80amp alternators.

After you've been doing this for years, this is just part of the job.

STAGE V++++
