I work for Discount Tire and at my store I mount all the high dollar/low profile/3-Piece wheels and not one of 'em leaves worse than it arrived. I use pieces of terry cloth to protect the wheel from the plastic "protectors" that we slide over the usual metal clamps. Take some old towels with you and insist that the tech use them. In addition, if the wheels have a hair-net looking cover over them, I leave that on while mounting the tire. Also did you get rid of your wheels yet? I was reading the classifeds and swa you were giving them away?!?!?! You should leave them at the store and I can have the Co ship them to me=) Anyway, good luck and don't feel bad for looking over the tech's shoulder while he's handling your wheels, they're used to it.
