killing you pre 94 injectors. Please state the year of your car, what kind of fuel injector cleaner you use, and how often do you put it in your Z !? Have you had a fuel injector failure and at what mileage !? If you have read my previous post, we were discussing the reason for the high rate of pre 94 injectors failure compared to the non existing injector failure on the newer style pintle-less injector of 94+ cars. After a week on investigation, I want to find out if the fuel injector cleaner we are using, is actually a fuel injector killer, causing pintle corrosion and injector failure. Some people suggested that 90-93 cars are older and this is why they fail, but why would a 93 injector fail while a 94 injector would not, one year is not that far apart and the newest Z today is 7 years old. Is it the improved injector design that fixed the problem, or is it the fact that Nissan do not recommend using fuel injector cleaner on 94+ pintle-less injectors, so the risk of injector corrosion by solvent is less or non-existent. I have never used fuel injector cleaner before on my car, a month ago, I put in a bottle of redline fuel injector cleaner and after that my injector problems started. Coincidence?, cleaner solvent corrosion, or just bad design!? Let’s find out.
