worlds apart. In the Z you have a shit load of space around your torso and it suits people who are 6 feet and up very well. The MR2 on the other hand is pretty rough for anyone near 6 feet, very tight around the waist and especially around the knees, not much mobility once you're in. The car is nimble, very tossable and relatively light. You can't get the sick power gains out of an MR2 like a Z (or at least not easily), but the car was never built to drag anyway.
