Message Definitely not an electrical issue, I'm pretty positive it sucked water all the way in. The water was probably 10" deep - obviously I didn't KNOW that, since after 7 years of owning the Z I'm pretty careful with it. Ironically enough, even if I had made it through the parking lot I NEVER would have made it to my house, all the routes there had at least 6" of water, probably more like 8" on much of the road. Apparently we had somewhere between 9-10" of rain fall in an hour, and it rained from 2pm->10pm.

Our parking lot had flooded ridiculously (had I left it in it's original spot, the water would have _easily_ come in through the doors) and I waited out the storm as long as I could, and tried to leave a few hours after the worst of it. The spot where I had moved my car to was dry, and I didn't realize how badly the parking lot sloped just before the exit. What looked like a couple inches of water (this was 7pm, in the driving rain, after all) turned out to be much deeper. In fact, this morning when it got towed I stuck my hand in the passenger side, and the carpet there was soaking wet.

What misled me was that of the hundred+ cars in the lot, mine was the only one that had a problem getting out. (A few got trashed just sitting in their spots, but basically everyone whose car started drove right out the same way I tried to go)

Oh well, nothing I can do now... I do have comprehensive and am assuming that they'll work with me and cover the damage, but it's going to suck if my car gets totalled... I was feeling ok until I found the water inside the passenger compartment; that's just the icing on the cake. I'm not sure if that happened when it was sitting in a spot or if it was a result of the quick dunk.
