My "buddy" was putting the starter back on the tranny and used the wrong bolts. The bolts were so long that they were going through the housing and touching the flywheel. Luckily, after trying to start it 2-3 times, I realized that what I was hearing was not a good sound. Anyway, long story short, removed the bolts, checked the teeth on the flywheel, which were ok and replaced the bolts with the correct ones. Cha Ching! Started right up. Let this be a lesson, even something as simple as putting two starter bolts in can sometimes be a BIG problem if you don't keep an eye on the situation.
