| for you.. There are some things that I have dwelled on when it comes to ECU's mainly after seeing discrepencies in how it was being done by others. Safety mapping: There is another set of maps that are used when there is a problem. My program remaps them properly so that when there is a problem detected it will actually use a more conservative mapping. JWT's programming does not do this. Although 'safety boost' is a good safety function that both JWT and myself maintain, it will not indicate any problems if you have a boost controller. With my programming, there will be a significant loss of power as the ECU's parameters run the engine in a safe, low power output configuration until you get the problem fixed. Power: I suspect because JWT does not take advantage of these safety maps, their primary 'normal' maps are conservative. About as conservative as my safety maps in fact. What this means is that you are not achieving the optimal power your car can safely produce. These results have been seen in direct comparisons between my program and JWT's. My target A/F is 11.5:1. This may vary a little due to slight differences in the condition of your fuel system or if you have boost leaks, but it is by far a safe A/F and it produces the best power gains. Ignition timing contains a lot of power and this is one of the parameters that JWT is overly conservative on. Ignition dwell duty: I increase the spark intensity under heavy load to avoid misfire and increase combustion efficiency. No one else has done this in their configurations. Accelleration enrichment: These parameters have been tailored to produce the best throttle response for any engine condition. JWT does this also. Some other benefits of my upgrade: My ECU is $300 through Z1 motorsports (plus $250 core) JWT is $550 + $500 core I offer free upgrades as you upgrade your car. JWT charges $100 each time I'm just a really nice guy. ;-) Ben is something else... Email me about this if you would like to know more. I'm happy to help.
