I always figured it was one or the other. Anyway, I guess technically you CAN get better gas mileage out of an aftermarket intake because it "frees up" the breathing of the car. But that is also if you NEVER give it more than half-throttle. My feeling is, however, if you bought a Z you weren't all that interested in getting better gas mileage, or else you would have bought a Metro. I'm guessing you, like all of us, bought your Z for a sports car. So use it damnit. Put an intake on it. It'll make it a lil faster and afterall, isn't that the point?
