That engine has no low end torque. It doesn't really become useful until 5-8k rpm. Maybe in a really light car it would be ok since the lack of low end torque won't affect it too much, but imagine pulling away from a stop with that engine... you're not going to launch it at 4000 rpm from every stoplight, and even if you did it would still want to bog. It hardly has any power at 3500 rpm, I'd like to see what it has at 1500-2000 rpm, where you'd usually launch it from during daily driving.
