| This morning I left to go for a test drive (a fuel hose started leaking, again) and pick up some Vinylex. I was at a light in the right lane. Almost no traffic. I saw a white, mid/late 80's mustang with a huge hood scoop and an aggressive stance coming up in the left lane. He pulls up and gives it a little rev. I already decided I wasn't going to race him (endless reasons - it is a street, not a track - I am stock, he is...an accident waiting to happen). His rear tires looked like they were removed from a top fuel dragster. He starts to hit it when the light turns green. This is where it gets good. I do nothing. The second he starts to launch I here a few loud pops. Something from his car rolls out into the intersection as he coasts ahead...His car starts wobbling and bouncing funny. His right rear tire is the cause. He sheared off the posts and lug nuts!!!! At least 3 of them probably 4 (assuming it started with 5). After he comes to a stop I slowly move forward. He gets out and starts walking to the back of the car looking down, then looking at me. As I go by I tell him his lug nuts broke off on the rear tire. On my way home I found him leaning against the back of his car with a friendly HPD officer parked behind him and 3 tow trucks ready to go. Happy Memorial Day! rcm1
