Message :not really... ya have to realise there are no legal dragstrips for racing in NYC.. the closest one is in Englishtown, New Jersey (2hrs away from Long Island where the accident occured).. so I can't really blame them for street racing.. it is wrong and extremely dangerous but with the only alternative being 2 hours away people are gonna do it... (note to Mayor Bloomberg.. "give us a damn track already")

Yes you guys don't have a track "local" to you, but as you said it yourself - street racing is extremely dangerous" and as other members have expressed... it's idiotic too. I'm no better having street raced myself. However, i learn from other folks mistakes and i haven't had a race in about forever, nor do i choose to off the track. Now if you can predictively setup a race where you know for 99% sure it is not going to have traffic of any sort... then that would be ideal vs those cars running out on the street and both cars destroyed as a result. i'm sure my rant won't change any minds but just please remember to be safe when on the streets... racing or otherwise.
