sure I offset it enough so it can shoot out at the rear. When you look at the car head on, you can't really see it because it matches the mirror. And in the rear it's hard for anyone to see your rear mirror. If they can see it, it's hardly noticable. I also have the remote display. So the lights on the detector don't go off...especially good at night. I had it with the cluster pod between the speedo & tach. Also, in WA they can't pull you over for just having a radar detector. They are legal in WA. If you do get pulled over for speeding, they are less likely to let you go if they see a radar detector. They are only illegal to use in VA...and even that's not really true. In DC they are illegal to have.
