| hey, just wanna say wuttup to everyone, as i'm new to these boards. A couple of months ago, i was introduced to the Z. I mean, i'd seen it before, acknowledged it - but never truly took it in. Now, lets just say i'm in love with the car =] I have a little personal dilemma I was wondering if anyone would comment on. I *definitely* wanna cop the Z ... here's my situation though: I'll be turning 19 around the time i'd be able to get it (months) Most likely i'd be shooting for a 1990-1992 NA 2+2 - i'll have 3-5gs to spend most likely. The good part is that my uncle (who introduced me to the Z) knows good people who can help me with bodywork, etc. Note that this would be my first car. (That I personally own) And while having the money to cop that model and someone to help me start up with everything seems enticing ... im having trouble deciding if I should get a manual or automatic. I've yet to drive a stick shift.. and was wondering if going manual would be a bad choice for my first car. I assume like many things in life that appear difficult at first, it would be mastered within a certain time frame and become like second nature. I understand how having more control over your gears, engine, and therefore your driving in this exquisite car would definitely be a plus. However I shudder when I imagine myself stuck in NYC traffic ... "1st, neutral, 1st, neutral, 1st, neutral" :P Wonder if it will be all worth it? I definitely plan on going on a few road trips at least .. and I don't live in Manhattan at least (Brooklyn baby!) which i consider the pinnacle of bad driving conditions. I could rock my moms 2002 civic if things get ugly =P But i doubt i'd want to even get into her car once I have my Z. Will copping an AT take all of the pleasure out of driving that beauty? I really have no idea how pleasant (or annoying?) it is to drive a stick in city conditions. I realize its a personal choice but I assume at least some others must have been in a similar situation .. maybe you guys can give me some general feedback. thanks in advance :]
