well, the transmission has always ran smoothly and i have never had a problem with it. i stopped to get something to eat, and when i was pulling out of the parking lot, i was accelerating, but the car barely moved. it was revving to about 4000 rpms, and i was doing about 15-20 mph. i put the car in gear 2, and i was able to get up enough speed to get out of the middle of the road and pull over. I turned the car off, and turned it back on, and tried pulling out again. The same thing happend. The transmission wont shift out of first gear. it just revs higher and higher until, if i let it, it would redline. also, this may be irrelevant, but i noticed that the o/d button was pushed to "off" and even after switching it back on, the problem didnt change. I drove the car to a garage and parked it outside. called my mom to come get me, and i was late for work. maybe this will clear up n e confusion...i really appreciate everyone trying to help me out.
