Here is a short version of our process. Regardless of urethane or fiberglass we bake the parts overnight in the paint booth to move any absorbed mold release agents to the surface. Then we clean and wash the parts. It is to be noted that rear valences are install off the car. This means we take the OEM rear bumper off. This achieves a perfect fit. Then the parts are pre-fit. After fitment we fine sand the urethane and with fiberglass fill all minute holes from the mold. Then we prime the parts and prefit again. And yes we use flex. We do not use 3M double sided tape, unless absolutely necessary. We use a urethane adhesive and fill for urethane kits. This is sandable so we can get seamless installs. For glass we use the same adhesive. We also counter sink screws for rigidity and then fill with either fiberglass resin or the urethan fill. This reduces stress cracks and vibrations. The parts are painted off the car ni the booth. Then after install we sand and apint again and blend into any panels to make sure the car blends perfectly. This clearly is the nickle tour. : I am trying to figure what people do when they install the body kit. Basically do you paint the sides skirts and rear valance off the car or do you paint it on the car itself? Also what kind of material do you use to stick the side skirts and rear valance in place? : I have the veilside rear, sides and Stillen front bumper..
