| I posted last week that my car had just finished having a 60k service done to it, which of course includes the timing belt. The mechanic at the local dealership forgot to tighten the bolt holding the pulley between the two heads in which the timing belt goes under (and provides tension). Nissan has so far decided to have the heads reworked and replace all 24 valves and lifters. Upon asking about the pistons they claimed they are fine. Should I be suspect of this? If the valves hit the pistons and I need new valves, shouldn't I also need some new pistons? So far the quality of treatment I have received has been excellent, but I want my car put back together properly.
