Are you sure you haven't blown your sub? Or your amp? From what I read in your last post it looks like your amp went into some kind of a "protect" mode by shutting itself off before you could do anymore damage to it. Turn your gain down some. Don't just blast your system at full bass all the time. You should set the gain on your amp by turning the gain all the way down to 0 then turn your receiver to 3/4 maximum volume with music playing, then SLOWLY turn up the gain until you can hear your sub start to distort, then turn it back down just a tad. As for wire, for power and ground you should use 4awg to be safe, and for speaker wire what you have should be fine.
