Message People on here debate all the time over whether or not it will actually yield visible negative results. Basic consensus is that it's fine on an NA. It is questionable on high powered TTs since the UD pulley will no longer absorb the harmonic vibrations of the crank. No one has ever offered any hard evidence that it has caused the destruction of an engine (nor that it will not cause it), but in theory I do see why some will not do it. I guess it's a question of how long the engine can survive with one. Higher the output, the shorter the engine life, in theory. But from 500,000 miles to 300,000 miles possible engine life isn't a big deal. Who knows, no one has really proven that it will or will not hurt the engine in the long run.
