Message A traffic stop is actually considered an arrest already. If you admit guilt, you do NOT have to be read a miranda warning first if you are not being formally interogated. Should your logic be true, that would mean that you could walk up to a cop and tell him that you committed a crime and not be charged with it. Certainly not true...they'll at least hold you while they investigate.

: a traffic ticket is an arrest just like any other arrest. Any admission of guilt without one being read their rights is completely inadmissable in the court of law. If an officer doesn't read you your rights when making the arrest you can tell him you shot a man and he cannot use it against you in court. This is a very common mis-conception but it is true for all tickets.
