#1... if you get wider rims/tires/etc... you'll CHIP the paint off the back of the fender right behind the tire. I'm running rear rims up from (245/45/zr16s on 16x8.5" rims) and its eating away at my paint on the fender down at the bottom corner... #2, it leaves a LOT of marks from debris and stuff that gets thrown up. Most comes right off and doesn't leave a perminent mark, but they are there temporarily. #3, if the painter does a crap job, like mine did, it will crack along the body welds. There is a main weld at the back of the doors that goes down the rockers... my paint has cracked down both sides along those seems because the rock guard was removed and painted over. Its not pretty. MAKE SURE your painter preps the paint correctly. Tell him the chassis WILL flex, and it has cracked paint on other Zs before. I specificially asked my painter if he put flex agent in the paint and he said he did and that it actually came already in the paint... he lied. Its chipping and cracking everywhere. You can get it done, but I'd recommend two things... #1, FLEX AGENT or something similar to make sure the paint WON'T crack. Mine is only 2 years old, and it has been cracked now for almost a year. #2, put a clear guard at the back of each fender well (kinda like the clear bra stuff). Some sports cars COME with the stuff on them... Audi TT and G35c are two examples. Probably the 350Z (though I havent' looked). G35c has them on the front of the rear fenders (where they flare out a little) to guard from rock chips. I would HIGHLY recommend getting something like that put on to protect against chips and such. My $0.02.
