Message	have them do a test drive. Putting out that $$$ means you are serious. Does he think HIS mechanic doesn't drive it? He's nuts if he thinks so... Test drives (when the car is serviced) are mandatory at any reputable shop. I'd push for the test drive and the compression test at a mechanic you choose (not your uncle's garage though - sorry...) Hopefully you know of a good Z shop (not import shop) to take it to. If not, ask the forum members, they'll know of one...
