Maybe you won't get to sit in front of a computer or on a beach somewhere, but there's plenty of jobs available if you're motivated to work. I went out and got 4 job offers within a week and I'm not overly qualified for anything. Granted, the jobs didn't pay a lot ($25K-$30K), but I know how to live within my means, so it's not a problem. When I see people bitching about not finding jobs (not that you were) it annoys me because it's not true. They CAN find jobs ... just not jobs that they want to do. Heaven forbid that you might be forced to work a job that you don't like for a couple months while you're looking for something better. I say suck it up and eat your pride.
Again, this isn't directed right at you, but there is a group of people that always take on this "woe is me" attitude when they can't find easy, high-paying, Mon-Fri 9-5 technology jobs. Just because you're trained in a given field doesn't mean that's your only option - especially if you're in a tight spot financially.
